We keep learning from people who contribute to this Fellowship. A recent
comment made us realize we ought to provide a place for gratitude to
be expressed in tangible ways! She writes:
“I can’t seem to find somewhere on your site for making donations to
your group. Perhaps I didn’t search well or hard enough. Is there
info on this subject? And you might want to make it more visible and
also make the need known that financial support is wanted and
why.” – Alexis Deacon
Good point! So, this page is the effort to make the “where” and “why”
more visible.
Why is financial support helpful?
Money is always an expression of thought. When we come together as a
fellowship, we support not only each other, but we encourage love for
the community and for the world. Without even having a building or
place to meet, our first priority has establishing a Christian Science
community known by its love for one another. We felt that a blog would
help us not only communicate openly with each another, but give us the
means to hear and understand anyone who wishes to connect with this
Fellowship. As we continue to grow, we want to put our prayers and
efforts where we can fulfill our mission most effectively. That is, we
want to encourage each other’s growth in Christian grace through
worship, education, service for our communities, and healing.
In order to do so, we want to invest in the tools that will support
our objectives most effectively. Right now we are developing a website
that will further support back-AND-forth conversation, with audio and
video. The website is a high priority for this Fellowship, as we
nurture relationship-building and mutually beneficial connections with
the world we live in.
Before the website is even launched, though, we are responding to the
needs we hear most distinctly. Some of those include specific support
for young adults and educating ourselves for effective interfaith
relationship building. Financial support (the kind that comes from a
desire to move these thoughts forward) gives us more strength to act
on the calling. One of the benefits of our early commitment to a blog
is that we’re able to share publicly as we learn. Your public
contributions support our public communicating, and in turn, we give
thanks to all our donors. That’s one more active expression of
fellowship!
